Heating Questions

Q. Is it really necessary to get a pre season tune up on my heating system?
A. Put it this way, a pre season tune-up on your home heating system is just as important as a tune-up on your car. This kind of maintenance extends the life of your system while ensuring it runs safely and efficiently. Pre-season tune-ups identify small problems before they become big and costly. Your heating system is not used all spring, summer and fall, a tune-up will prep it for the cold weather to come.

Q. We need a new heating system, what should I be looking for?
A. When it's time for a new system, we recommend models with the highest possible HSPF (Heating Season Performance Factor). The higher the number the more efficient the system. We are currently supplying and installing Ruud and Lennox Ducane furnaces. However, we will install what ever brand you prefer. All brands and All Types.

Q. What is the average life span of a home heating system?
A. The average lifespan of a home heating system is fifteen years. To get the most out of your system consider regular cleaning and filter changes. Consider pre-season tune-ups to keep it running at it's best.

Q. The read out on the thermostat is blank, what do I do?
A. Check to see if the thermostat indicator is switched to heat, if this does not help try replacing the batteries. Some digital thermostats have a reset button on the pad. Press this to reset the original settings and in some cases the read out. Quick Tip: Many times when the thermostat display flashes a repeating message, the batteries need to be replaced. If you find your self replacing batteries more often than the recommended number of times per year, a short could exist in the control panel
